Dear Editor,
I was so proud to see teams of Piper-shirt-clad volunteers (or so I gathered) out on Snelling Avenue the other day sprucing up planters and pulling the weeds out of the sidewalk. Traffic was heavy, so I used the opportunity for a Mom-lecture to the backseat on the virtues of community service. It was extra gratifying to be able to tell the kids those were students from "my school"!
Please convey my thanks to those students. I drive that route several times a week between home and music school, so I really appreciate the care.
