Hamline's men and women cross country teams had winning performances at St. Kate's on Saturday morning, despite tough competition, an overnight snow fall and cool temperatures.
On both the men's and women's sides, Piper harriers were the first to cross the finish line.
For the women, senior runner Margot Branigan won the race with a time of 14:34.3, while senior Ian Bauer came in first in the men's race with a time of 12:19.6.
Shortly after Branigan finished, her teammate, junior Jessica Kociscek, came in sixth with a time of 15:12.1.
Also helping the Pipers were sophomore Sara Holland (15th), senior Rachel Glissmann (17th) and senior Katie Drinane (18th), who all finished within seconds of each other.
The women's team landed a second place finish with 57 points, falling short of Luther College who won the meet with 32 points.
The men had several top-ten finishes, including sophomore Murphy Monson who came in sixth with a time of 12:45.3, trailed by junior Ian Campbell with a time of 12:48.5 and a ninth place finish.
St. Thomas was victorious with 25 points and a first place meet finish, resulting in a third place finish for Hamline with 51 points.
Both teams will be heading to UW-Lacrosse next Saturday. The men will be competing at 10:30 a.m. and the women will begin at 11:30 a.m.
