Vehicle malfunction: Officers provided a jump start to a car in the apartment lot.
Feb. 22, 5:15 p.m.
False alarm: An emergency call box was activated but nothing was found at the scene.
Feb. 22, 6:54 p.m.
Noise violation: A report of a loud noise, possibly a gunshot, was reported near the apartments. Officers responded but no unusual activity was discovered.
Feb. 22, 8:52 p.m.
Vehicle malfuntion: Officers provided a jump start to a car in the visitor parking lot.
Feb. 23, 8:03 a.m.
Power outage: A power outage was reported from the MISA buliding. Officers responded and contacted plant facilities.
Feb. 23, 11:47 p.m.
Alarm activation: An alarm was activated at 1600 Unica, officers responded and determined the night cleaning crew was responsible.
Feb. 23, 12:23 p.m.
Vehicle malfunction: Officers provided a jump start to a car off campus.
Feb. 24, 12:37 p.m.
Suspicious persons: Three subjects leaving the bookstore fit the description of subjects believed to be involved in thefts from bookstores on other campuses. Subjects were gone on arrival of officers but officers took the license plate number on a vehicle leaving the area.

Parking complaint: An officer investigated a parking complaint in the faculty parking lot.
Feb. 24, 6:10 p.m.
Open car: Officers discovered a car near Hutton Arena with open windows and secured the car.
Safety and Security crime prevention tip:
•With warmer temperatures and the onset of spring, a rise in thefts from vehicles are generally noted, Safety and Security recommends following some basic rules to minimize the possibility of your vehicle or property being stolen.
• Keep valuable property out of sight. Most thefts from vehicles are crimes of opportunity. If something of value is readily viewed, the thief will simply smash and grab in most cases.
• Record important information. Have the make, model and serial number of valuable items recorded. In the event of a theft, providing information to security will aid greatly in the recovery of stolen objects.
•Secure valuables in your trunk or out of sight before you park.
•Whenever possible, park in well lit areas. Make sure doors and windows are secured and locked. Arm any alarm device that may be installed on the vehicle.
